Rays of Hope Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Hello! I hope you're enjoying the weekend! I'm back to share this quick and easy card made with Distress Inks and water stamping.

On a piece of white cardstock, I used my blending tool to apply Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks in a half circular motion.

Then I sprayed my Rays of Hope Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs with water and pressed down. This stamp is perfect for this technique! When it dried, I outlined it with some hand-stitching.

The sentiment was stamped in black with the Say Hello Unmounted Stamp. Then I backed it with another piece of cardstock colored with the same Distress Inks.

Thanks for looking!

Explore the Lake LO ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Hello! I'm back with this layout of my son, just in the knick of time for some July challenges featuring a couple of stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

My design inspiration started with this sketch from Stuck?!sketches with some old scraps of Kaisercraft wood papers attached to white cardstock with some small metal brads in the corners.

Next came a layer of Prima Heavy White Gesso applied to the papers and background. Once dry, I used the TCW Texturized and Well Rounded Stencils all over the background, and again waited for the gesso to dry before having fun with Lindy's Stamp Gang July Color Challenge.

Everything on this page was colored with sprays and magicals, and the stamping embossed with Midnight Pewter Embossing Powder. To bring out the fencing from the photo, I used the Chicken Wire Background Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp, stamped onto a Tim Holtz Manila Tag and the black cardstock mounting it, before distressing the edges.

The title came from the July More Than Words Challenge to use the word EXPLORE, done with a mix of old alpha stickers and buttons.

The creative challenge was to use arrows which I embossed with the Elegant Arrows Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp. Then I finished it off with some hand stitching.

Such a fun color palette, and awesome texture from the gesso and magicals! Thanks for looking!

Black and White Anniversary Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

My 16th wedding anniversary is coming up soon, so I made a black and white card for my husband, featuring a variety of stamps from Red Rubber Designs.

I divided the card in half with black embossing on white cardstock, and white embossing on black cardstock. stamping the background with the Background Stripes Unmounted Rubber Stamp. Then I masked "16" onto each piece with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays (Sidewalk Chalk and Blazing Black). before taping the backs together.

The big heart was embossed with the I Heart You Unmounted Stamp, and the smaller ones with the Sweet Goodies Accessories Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp Set.

For the sentiment, I used the Contemporary Greetings Unmounted Rubber Stamp, with the diamond border underneath embossed with the Showy Strips Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp. Then I  finished it all up with some hand-stitching.

Thanks for looking, and shop Red Rubber Designs to get these stamps and SO many more!

Majestic Mountain Frame ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Hello! I hope you're enjoying the rest of the weekend. I'm back to share my mixed media frame featuring the Majestic Mountain, All Things of Nature, and Hope Perches Unmounted Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs.

Since the pizza box that I made the frame from already had a tab on it, I centered it on top with a grommet though it, tearing the top layer to reveal the corrugated cardboard. Then I covered it with Prima Heavy White Gesso to mimic the waterfalls in the stamp. Once dry, I colored it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals. which completely soaked and warped the frame. But as it started to dry it went back into place with the help of some heavy books placed on top. The water did remove the backing though, making it flimsy, so I mounted it onto heavy black matte board.

The Majestic Mountain stamp was the perfect image for me to try reflective stamping for the first time. After stamping the image onto white cardstock, I stamped it again onto acetate, and flipped the design underneath, rubbing it onto the paper. It took a few tries, but is something I'll definitely be doing again. Then I colored it with the same Magicals that I used on the frame and to color the flowers.

Although the Magicals themselves have lots of shimmer, I also added Clear Wink of Stella to the birds and water. The birds were stamped with the All Things of Nature stamp, popped up, and finished with a dot of black puffy paint on their eyes.

Finally, the sentiment was done with the Hope Perches Unmounted Stamp, stamped with two different purple inks.

Stamperia Around the World ATC Set ~ FotoBella DT

I've always admired ATC's (Artists' Trading Cards) but had never made my own, until now! With just one sheet of paper from Stamperia's Around the World 12 X 12 Paper Pad from FotoBella.com, I was able to create this set mounted onto cardboard.

The cardboard measures 3 1/2" X 5", and I started by tearing the top layer off about 1/2" around the edges. Then I mixed some paint with Prima Marketing's Heavy White Gesso, and applied it to the cardboard edges with my Bo Bunny Palette Knife. I worked quickly so I could immediately sprinkle it with small beads before the gesso dried.

Once the gesso did dry, I arranged and adhered my fussy-cut pieces, inked along the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and my Blending Tool

Of course I had to add some vintage buttons, along with the shells that I added to this one!

Finally, I finished them up with some sparkly fiber. Thanks for looking!

Happy 4th of July! ~ FotoBella DT

Happy 4th of July! I had a blast making this page in my art journal for the FotoBella Design Team, using Dyan Reaveley's Dylusion's Paints from FotoBella.com!

I started by masking the stripes with some Artist Tape, and applied Postbox Red with my Mini Blending Tool. Then I went over them again with the same color using the Tim Holtz Stripes Stencil
The next step was the zigzags created with the Tim Holtz Zigzag Stencil and After Midnight. To fill in the background, I used my fingers to apply a layer of London Blue followed by After Midnight. Finally the stars were done with an old stencil and White Linen, before adding the title done with the Tim Holtz Alphabet Mask and Cargo Stencil.

These fireworks photos taken a few years ago over Lake Tahoe, were cut with the same star stencil.

For some sparkle, I outlined them with Christmas Red, Blue Bayou, and Sea Spray Stickles.

Thanks for looking, and have a fun and safe 4th of July from all of us at FotoBella!

Life of the Party Tag ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Inspiration can come in many ways, and a peacock feather was mine for this tag I made for the Red Rubber Designs Design Team, featuring the Life of the Party Unmounted Stamp!

I started with a Tim Holtz #8 Manila Tag and colored it with Distress Spray Stains. Then I used the same colors with a paintbrush to color the Life of the Party Stamp that I embossed with glitter onto white cardstock. After adding sequins, I popped it up for dimension.

Then I added a border along the bottom with the Fanciful Vintage Unmounted Stamp Set, also embossed with glitter onto teal cardstock.

To really make the colors pop, I finished all of the edges with black embossed glitter.

Thanks for looking, and shop Red Rubber Designs for these stamps and more!
